Procedure for operating calorifier
Operation
of the calorifier heated by steam (see figure below)
1. Check the water level in the system
2. Open the valves in the fresh water and hot water line as necessary
3. In circulating system, start the hot water circulating pump
4. Open the outlet stop valve steam line and open the inlet stop valve gradually in order to expel the drainage in the heater and the pipeline and in order to prevent the water hammer induced by accumulated drainage.
Then the hot water circulates in the line, the steam heater heats water,
and the temperature regulating valve regulates steam quantity as required and
produces hot water at constant temperature.
To stop the operation, the process mentioned above is to be carried out in the
reverse order.
Operation of the calorifier heated by electricity (see figure beloow)
1. Confirm that the tank and pipeline are filled with water. The electric heater designed for water heating will be broken in several minutes when electrified without water.
2. Open the valves in fresh water and hot water line as necessary.
3. In circulating system, start the hot water circulating pump also.
Then, after confirming the setting point of thermostat to be at adequate temperature, turn the switch of electric source on, and switch on electrical heater/s on the control box.
When operating manual, turn the AUTO – OFF – MAN 3-position switch to the manual position.
It is important for hot water temperature not to exceed 80 ˚C, since the thermostat is not in operation at manual condition.
To stop the operation, put 3-position switch on the control box to OFF or select AUTO position.
Switch at off - position, stop the hot water circulation pump, and turn off electric source.
