Control measures

The controls used in the starting air system are:

• Pressure sensors, switches, manometers;
• Temperature sensors, switches, thermometers;
• Air compressor electric motor load cells, ammeters;
• Hour meter for air compressor;
• Water condensate control and drain valves;
• Cooling water flow and oil level control windows can be used.

It is necessary to control the start-up air system during operation:

• The pressure in the air receivers, the system and, depending on the construction of the air compressor, the pressure of the water cooling it, the flow, and the pressure of the oil, the level in the crankcase.
• The temperature of the air leaving the air compressor;
• Air compressor electric motor load;
• Number of hours worked by the air compressor;
• Water condensate in air receivers.
