In areas where the overboard water temperature is low, the temperature of the circulating overboard water can be raised using a recirculation line. For this purpose, part of the warm water is returned from the heat exchanger to the bottom box (or to the intermediate tank). Here the warm water mixes with the cold water behind the onboard water. The amount of recirculated water can be adjusted by opening or closing the overflow valve from the central coolers.
