a)  Make sure the overboard water main is filled with water as described above. Depending on the location of the boat (deep or shallow water), use a bottom or side kingboard to pump overboard water.
b)  Make sure all valves on the pressure gauges and devices are open.
Evaluate the temperature of the overboard water and decide how much central coolers to use.
c)    Start one main cooling overboard water pump from the local control panel with the drain valve closed. Then slowly open the drain valve.
d)   Open the valves of the other main cooling pumps behind the on-board water.
e)    Bleed the central coolers to ensure full overboard water flow through each cooler
f)  Switch off the running overboard water pump on the ECR remote control. Then set all three pumps to AUTO CHANGE mode. And restart the pump that was running before. If one pump is not enough, switch on two pumps.
g)  Turn on the marine growth prevention system used in the Kingston filter. It is very important that the MGPS is used only in that filter and only when water flows through it.
