a)             Make sure the vent line valve of the selected overboard water Kingston filter is open.
b)             Once the hydraulic valve system is scheduled, installed, and operating, open the water pump of the selected Kingston overboard using the remote control on the ECR. When the valve is opened, its indicator light on the control panel diagram will illuminate green. Then set the switch to the OFF position.

NOTE: If the hydraulic valve system does not work, use an emergency hand pump to open the valve (as described in the operation section).
1)   If the remote hydraulic system is not provided (it is not present), open the valve manually.
2)   Bleed the selected Kingston filter, close the filter vent valve.
3)   And open the suction valve from the filter manually.
4)   Make sure the suction valve on the other kingston from the filter is closed.
5)   The overboard water suction line (or intermediate tank when it is full) is now ready for operation.

NOTE: Kingston overboard water suction filters must be inspected and cleaned frequently, otherwise the suction pressure drop through the filter screen will increase.

CAUTION:  Before cleaning the Kingston filter strainers, make sure the filter vent is clear. To do this, briefly open the filter vent valve and make sure that the onboard water is running. Then isolate the filter by closing its inlet and outlet valves. Open the filter vent valve again and make sure that no water escapes, there is no pressure in the filter, the valves are tight. Loosen the screws securing the filter cover without unscrewing them completely. Open the filter cover. If the valves are tight again and the water no longer flows, remove the cap.
