Procedures of Lubricating oil filling and transfer system
a)
Check and record the levels
in all lubricating oil tanks and record the amount of oil received.
b)
Make sure that all unused
lubricating oil transport system valves are closed.
c)
Check that the intake filter
of the oil transport pump is clean.
d)
Make sure that there is
sufficient space in the tank for the intended transfer of lubricating oil.
e)
Switch the valves as shown
in the figures below.
f)
Start the transport pump.
g)
Make sure that the
lubricating oil is delivered to the default location.
h)
When the required quantity
of oil has been received, signal for the pumping to stop. Allow the pipe to drain
and then close all valves.
i)
Check and record the levels
in all lubricating oil tanks and record the amount of oil received.
Lubricating oil transfer from ME sump to LO settling tank
Transferring of Lubricating oil from Auxiliary engine sump to LO Sluge tank.
CAUTION! Transferring the Lubricating very careful care is needed, to avoid mixing the main engine LO with the auxiliary diesel engine LO. Before starting the transfer operation, the position of all valves must be checked.
Transfer LO from auxiliary engine transfer tank to LO Sludge tank.
