Ships have many machineries of complex construction, the mode of operation of which is necessary to ensure the operation of the ship, so their fluent operation and proper maintenance are essential.

Fuel and oil are high energy value oil products. The combustion of fuel in ships produces energy, which is then converted into: the ship's course, electricity, heat, and other needs of the ship.  As known, the oil reduces the coefficient of friction in the energy-changing equipment of the vessel. Therefore, their receipt, storage and use are strictly accounted for (in the Oil Record Book) and regulated (MARPOL conventions, IGF code). This section provides an overview of the most found fuel and oil systems on ships, which are subdivided according to purpose:

   Fuel storage and refueling system;

   Oil storage and replenishment system;
✔   Fuel purification systems;
✔   Oil treatment system;
✔   Fuel supply system;
✔   Oil delivery system.
