Marine diesel is thicker and allows for requirements of sulphur and combustion residues. It is classified as an energetic fuel. It is either a high-boiling rectification residue including fuel oil or a rectification residue mixed with a lighter proportion. It contains up to 15% fuel oil and up to 2% sulphur.
