SOLAS

the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) is an international maritime treaty that sets minimum safety standards in the construction, equipment and operation of merchant ships.


Steering Gear

is equipment provided on ships to change the direction of the ship during sailing or maneuvering. The Steering Gear works only when the ship is in motion and, does not work when the ship is stationary.


Synchronization

is the process of matching parameters such as voltage, frequency, phase angle, phase sequence, and waveform of alternator (generator) or other source with a healthy or running power system. This is done before the generator is reconnected to the power system.
