Ship systems and machinery are directly or indirectly integrated with each other and operate in the same environmental conditions. A problem in any of these will affect the others. As demonstrated in figure below, it is possible for systems and machines to work in harmony only by following certain methods and rules. In addition to the increasing number of machines and systems connected to the automation system for economic, continuous, efficient, safe, secure and environmentally friendly operation, control, analysis, interpretation, decision making and application processes have also increased. In order to reduce ship accidents, it is very important for shift engineers working on automation certified ships to gain experience with an effective ERS training. A well-designed ERS training with the right algorithms will be beneficial in reducing ship accidents and breakdowns.
