Class notation for Environmental class – Clean gives additional design requirements for lubricating oil systems. // DNV-RU-SHIP Pt.6 Ch.7. Sec.2

M/S MERSol has four lubricating oil tanks for ME and stern tube storage, CPP oil storage, gear oil storage and for ME LO drain storage. Filling of CPP system, reduction gears and stern tube system are arranged by gravity. Auxiliary engines are filled from a barrel. There are quick-closing valves on ME, stern tube and reduction gear oil tanks.
Each main engine is equipped with independent lubricating oil separator unit with single strainer and LO stand-by pump. The stand-by pump is not required by the rules for multi-engine installations. There is a strainer also before the stand-by pump. The reduction gears are arranged with duplex filters and stand-by pumps, as required by the rules.
