The water, which is generated by freshwater generator on shipboard condition, cannot be used by drinking water because of PH value, hardness, none of mineral components.

By using mineralizer, fresh water where is suitable hardness, PH value, mineral component and becomes the water which is the possibility of drinking.

Design and working principle of mineralizers of different manufacturers (DONG KWANG, DAE HEUNG TECH CO., etc) in general same. Below presented DONG KWANG DKM-10 and DAE HEUNG dolomite type mineralizers.

To the main particulars of mineralizers commonly belongs: storage tank capacity (L), freshwater flow (l/h), working pressure (MPa), design pressure (MPa), hydraulic test pressure (MPa), PH value, dimensions (l×b×h mm), pressure drop (MPa).

The mineralizer makes potable water from distilled water. The distilled water enters the mineralizer in the top and flows down through dolomite media, how you can see in figures below. In the mineralizer, the water absorbs the needed minerals and becomes pure potable water.

Dolomite is the name of sedimentary carbonate rock and a mineral, both composed of calcium magnesium carbonate CaMg(CO3)2 found in crystals. Dolomite for features, for example, purify water and lower acidity. Finally, it increases the calcium and the magnesium levels of the water.

Generally, mineralizers have tree working function. They are normal working, washing and buck flushing (see figure above).

Normal working of the mineralizer is a function of the general. The purpose of it to make potable water from distilled water.

Washing is the internal cleaning function of the mineralizer.

Buck flushing is the debris removal and cleaning function of the mineralizer filter.

Dolomite for features, for example, purify water and lower acidity. Finally, it increases the calcium and the magnesium levels of the water.
