Fresh water cooling system

The purpose of the fresh water cooling system is to cool the service unit and transfer the collected excess heat to the overboard water cooling system. Depending on the characteristics of the equipment to be serviced and the permissible operating temperatures, two-circuit cooling systems may be used to cool the equipment. This is:

• high-temperature cooling circuit, which allows thermal stresses and avoid thermal shock, while maintaining the operating temperatures necessary for more efficient operation;
• low temperature cooling circuit to maintain the lower operating temperature required for the unit being serviced.

In order to use resources more efficiently, part of the collected high-temperature cooling circuit temperature can be used for heating or overboard desalination.
