Note the different effects of the system, control and emergency, braking:

  • Stopping the scrubber by pressing the STOP button on the control panel: the exhaust gas cleaning system stops in a controlled manner following a predetermined shutdown sequence. The power supply to the exhaust gas cleaning system remains on.
  •  Emergency stop of the scrubber by pressing the EMERGENCY STOP button on the control panel: the power supply to all the main output modules of the programmable logic controllers is switched off (only some indicators powered by the 24V backup power supply will continue to operate). The exhaust gas purge system will stop immediately. The power supply to the exhaust gas cleaning system remains switched on.
  • After turning the MAIN SWITCH on the control panel to the OFF position: the power supply to the complete exhaust gas cleaning system is disconnected. Programmable logic controllers, human machine interface displays, and data logger are disabled.
  • In the event of a power failure: the exhaust gas cleaning system stops working. 24V emergency power supply turns on to keep programmable logic controllers, human machine interface screens and data logger active.
Attention: A supply of sealing air must always be available. Sealing air prevents exhaust gas from entering the scrubber when the intake valve is closed.
Attention: Use the emergency stop button only in the event of an accident. Never use this button to stop the system for any other reason.
