Maintenance of emergency power plant

Since the Emergency PP is the most important device of the vessel, special attention is paid to it: every week, an ETO with Engineer in charge checks the serviceability of all elements, the presence of fuel, air in the starting cylinders, the degree of charge of the battery, and also perform’s test start of the EDG (usually they start through the program device).

At least once every 6 months (or according to the instructions of the shipowner), a test run and switching on of the Emergency PP under load, in the ship's de-energizing mode are performed.
