After the ship is de-energized, the automated control system of the EDG ensures the implementation of the following start-up program, switching on the EDG to the busbars of the EPP and receiving the load:

1. disconnection of the power supply feeders of the Emergency PP Switchboard from the Main Switchboard;

2. pumping oil in the diesel lubrication system (if applicable);

3. moving the fuel supply control rail to the minimum supply position (if applicable);

4. turning on the (pneumatic, hydraulic or electric) starter that rotates the diesel;

5. eliminate restarting the starter in case of a successful start;

6. providing two more starts of the starter in case of a failed start;

7. upon successful launch, moving the fuel supply control rail (if applicable) to the nominal supply position;

8. turning on the EDG ACB after the excitation of the generator with the simultaneous acceptance of the load of the previously turned ON receivers or the acceptance of the load in 2 steps;

9. return of the automatic start-up system of the EDG to its original state;

10. interruption of the start-up program and return of the control system to its original state in the event that the power supply of the Main Switchboard is turned ON.
